The United Kingdom comprises the nations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It once comprised both big islands of the British Isles. The Republic of Ireland declared independence after WWII leaving the United Kingdom as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. As England lost its economic hegemony post WWII, unrest in Northern Ireland came center stage. Post Brexit, Scotland has started having second thoughts and Northern Ireland too is not too happy about it.
